Andrew Fowerdew

Andrew Flowerdew MEng MSc CEng MIEI FCIArb is the Managing Director of CDRS Ltd.

Andrew is a Chartered Engineer who holds a Master of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering along with a Master of Science Degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from Kings College, London.

He is a CEDR accredited Mediator, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Member of the Institute of Engineers Ireland, a Member of the Adjudication Society, a professional panel member of the Dispute Board Federation and a Member of the Society of Construction Law.

He has extensive experience within the civil engineering and building industry at a senior level and has worked on a wide range of major projects under many different forms of contract. He has experience in all aspects of project management from conception to final completion including the design process, tendering, planning, project management, programming, financial settlement and post contract issues.

Examples of project involvement at a senior level include: Commercial and residential buildings, major highway construction and motorway reconstruction, steel / concrete framed industrial buildings, pipelines and water retaining structures, landfill engineering, land remediation, recycling plants, mechanical installations, river & marine works, power stations, natural gas terminals, rail infrastructure, airports and sewage treatment plants.

His experience includes disputes valued from a few thousand pounds to in excess of 290million on very large and complex $2billion plus international projects in various locations around the world.

Andrew actively supports and practices the use of mediation where appropriate.

He has prepared expert reports for litigation, arbitration, adjudication and has given evidence on civil engineering, building and commercial matters before domestic and international tribunals on behalf of Employers, Main Contractors and Sub Contractors.
